The Lafayette Historical Society (LHS), located on Golden Gateway in Lafayette, has numerous
resources about the area including:
Lafayette Sun newspaper from 1939 to the 1970's, clipping files about Lafayette, obituaries, photos, Acalanes High School yearbooks, and transcripts of their oral histories. Many of these items have indexes on their computer. Photos can be purchased and sent as prints or as a digital download.
Their volunteers greet you warmly and are anxious to help you with your research. If you don't have a chance to visit, check out their website. It's full of information, including video of oral histories and recordings of local Lafayette residents conducted between 1957 and 2018. It also has town histories in the form of vignettes ranging from village life to school days.
